Black Women Speak

Black Women Speak is a beacon of empowerment and support for Black women and girls in Minnesota. Our mission is to cultivate a nurturing environment where they can thrive through the transformative power of arts, wellness, and education. We recognize the dearth of organizations dedicated to the well-being of Black women and girls in our state, and we are committed to bridging this gap.

Our organization is a vibrant collective of Black women, united by a shared desire to heal, find joy, and move towards liberation on our own terms. Through the arts, we provide a platform for self-expression and storytelling. We explore healing techniques that foster inner peace and resilience. We create educational programs that illuminate the unique experiences and challenges faced by Black women in our society.

By working together, we are building a supportive ecosystem where Black women and girls can connect, grow, and thrive. We draw inspiration from the Combahee River Collective, a pioneering group of Black feminists who recognized that liberation can only be achieved through collective action and self-love.
